As a kid functioning forward to senior high school. We could not wait for the fun of making new friends, having more flexibility, and learning about things did not have any idea possibly existed or perhaps that would ever be strongly related us. That which we did not expect was every one of the confusion and difficulties that came with adolescence. Now try to imagine just how even more difficult teenage years is for a kid who are unable to hear.
Although deafness could affect all ages, the chosen cohort group can be adolescence since the identity discovered will seriously affect the person they become. What causes born deafness are usually not known. Approximately 1 out of every 1, 500 Americans is born deaf (Sheridan 63). Some research say half of these are because of genetics but there are many cases where reading parents produce deaf children and hard of hearing parents include hearing kids (Sheridan 21). The mother's health during the pregnancy has been proven to be one other factor.
THEORY, STAGE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF AGE GROUP AFFECTED MOST
Age range for any born hard of hearing adolescent is anywhere from the ages 12-20 (Feldman np). Teenage years is defined as the stage that lies among childhood and adulthood (Feldman 259). Persons in this stage likely develop egocentrism; it is about with the a sense of always being observed.
